Above and Beyond Clinic was established in 2009 by Dr. Jen Powers Maples. After working n the Redding area for 14 years, Dr. Jen decided to create her own clinic to provide family-orientated healthcare to companion animals, including horses, dogs, cats, and camelids.

Associate DVM

Above and Beyond Animal Care is seeking a full-time, small, or mixed animal veterinarian! This is a great opportunity for new graduates or experienced veterinarians who are looking to join a practice with a high reputation or are relocating to northern California and want to join a team they can truly connect with.

We are searching for someone who enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the outdoors, and working with great clientele. Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience executing high standards of care
  • Interest in mixed animal medicine (horses, backyard flocks, camelids, pocket pets)is a plus! We are also open to a strictly small animal DVM.
  • Willing to share weekend and after-hours on-call duties (flexible schedules catered to the team’s commitments)
  • Desire to build relationships with the local community
  • Exhibit a true passion for fostering the well-being of pets and their families
  • State Veterinary Board License (must be in good standing)

Day in the life:

  • Collaborate with our knowledgeable and dedicated team: Numerous long-term team members make up our highly skilled support staff. You’ll receive their full support to help you every step of the way!

  • Partner with clients: Advocate for the pet to plan follow-up visits, provide home-care instructions and education to ensure life-long health

  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records
  • Deliver medical and surgical treatments with formulary approved pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment in accordance with our standards
  • Practice in accordance with state practice act and principles of veterinary medical ethics

We’re well equipped with new digital radiology, ultrasound, hospitalization, and ICU facilities for small animal and equine patients.
