Medical Director at Above and Beyond Animal Care

Dr. Kayla graduated from Auburn University in 2017. She’s been working at Above and Beyond since graduation, and has interned through college since 2009. She is well known for her compassion and dedication to our clients. She recently married her high school sweetheart and now has two beautiful stepkids. Her spare time is typically spent outside with her animals and family. She enjoys riding her horse- “Speedie”, camping, hiking, and traveling. She loves all dogs, but especially loves Great Danes. She has three large dogs, and her Great Dane, “Hugo,” is a celebrity amongst our clients.

Hospital Manager

Jaime was born and raised in the Redding area. She has always had a passion for animals and spent most of her childhood on horseback. Jaime’s veterinary medicine career started in high school as an intern, and it eventually turned into her first job as a kennel attendant. Over the years, she has worn many different hats and played many roles within the clinic before becoming a Practice Manager, where she is able to combine her love for business with her passion for animals. Jaime currently lives in Lakehead with her husband, three children, two dogs, and a cat named Brussel Sprout. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, canning, fishing, gardening, and traveling.

Technician Assistant

Niki joined Above and Beyond Animal Care in 2021. She is highly experienced in caring for many species, and the knowledge she has acquired over the years working in Veterinary Hospitals has helped make her a key asset to our team. Niki and her family have many pets of different kinds, and we love to hear stories about them all, especially about her flock of chickens.

Technician Assistant

Dana has been a client since she was 3 years old! During her high school years, she started as an intern and worked her way up to becoming a permanent staff member in 2016. Dana is very experienced in assisting with surgical and anesthetic dental procedures. She is also an expert with our Laboratory analyzers, as well as being an Emergency Technician on the weekends. Dana enjoys spending time with her husband and pack of dogs. She also enjoys baking and reading in her spare time.

Technician Assistant

Chelsea joined our team in June 2022. As our Kennel Assistant, she dedicates herself to our surgical and hospitalized patients, ensuring they have the best care while staying at our hospital. She has lots of horse experience between owning her own (2 horses) as well as attending Feather River College enrolled in the Equine Program. While at work, she loves learning more each day about various animals. Outside the hospital, she enjoys horseback riding, painting, hiking, and spending quality time with her English bulldog, Daisy.

Kennel Assistant

Kim joined the Above and Beyond team as an intern when she was 16. She was officially hired in July of 2024 as a kennel technician; however, due to her outstanding personality, she was moved into a Client Service role. Kim enjoys working with all the animals and clients that come into our clinic! Outside the hospital, she likes to ride horses, train mustangs, read, and loves being outdoors. Kim owns eight horses and three dogs, with whom she spends most of her time. She appreciates the opportunity to learn new things every day and has many passions. Kim will be graduating from high school this year and will join the United States Air Force shortly.
